2025 Spring League Dates – 4th March to 27th May
Sean has asked Jamie and Mike to take on the admin of the league from the spring season as it coincides with Jamie’s pool league admin program (beta) being ready (his A-level computer science project).
Key features that enhance the current spreadsheet solution are:
- Players can be matched 3 ways; randomly, least recently played or to a similarly ranked opponent. Each to be tested during the season
- Game order is optimised to avoid playing 2 frames without a gap
- Leader Board and Player Stats will be available on this website
Spring League 2025 – Agreed Changes
Taking into account the vote and discussions from the What’s App chat, we have decided on the following changes:
- Re-Rack, no foul, when black ball is potted off the break (4.D.)
Our pub rules are based on the old EPA rules where potting the black on the break shot results in a re-rack. If there are no objections we would like to reinstate this rule. As we have a spare set of balls, any balls potted off the break can be replaced, no need to insert £1. - Get rid of the points advantage system
The vast majority of people voted against a points advantage system, so we will revert to not having one. - Score the best 10 from 12 rounds
While the league is organised to encourage frequent attendance we also do not wish to penalise players who cannot attend every single week. In order to strike a balance between this and encouraging attendance the league final scores will comprise of a player’s top 10 results.
Summer League
Double Elimination Bracket Tournament:
As regular attendance on a Tuesday during the summer is typically low we plan to run a bracket tournament instead. The top 16 from the Spring league will be automatically entered into the tournament and others may join if people drop out. Matches are best of 3 and can be played anytime at the Waggon. Results are posted on the What’s App group. We will try and get sponsorship for a summer league so there will be cash prizes.
